Inter-Related Cooperative Education, or Co-Op, is designed to help bridge the gap between school and the world of work. The course includes making decisions about the work place, choosing a career, entering the work force, the individual as a worker, and making financial decisions. Students study different types of training, writing resumes, interviewing, applying for jobs, working with others, using credit, and buying insurance. Students are provided practical work experience while still in high school and gain experience in applying for and interviewing for jobs. Students will take regularly scheduled classes part of the day and a Co-Op work experience the other part of the day. After applying with the LACC, students will be interviewed and must meet the criteria for acceptance into the program. Once accepted, the coordinator will assist with job placement.
